Pat’s roots began on a farm near Hague, Saskatchewan, the town where she obtained her early education and first learned about the joys of writing. Her post-secondary education included Bible College and University, as well as seminars, conferences and correspondence courses to develop her writing. Pat now lives in Regina, where she enjoyed a brief experience as assistant editor of a writer’s magazine, and where she is currently writing lighthearted articles in ‘Fellowscript’ magazine. Pat’s writing (including devotionals, poetry, stories) contains several published works, with “The Woman Behind the Blue Curtain being her first full-length book to be published. Pat also makes brightly colored book bags, home sewn of various materials, come in small and large, with some bags having decorative accents. The prices range from $3-$7, depending on the style and material.

“The Woman Behind the Blue Curtain” is the story of Aletha Joice, with short vignettes introducing each of the chapters telling about events in her life. It is also the story of a puppet ministry called God Squad, including many fondly remembered experiences of the troupes over the years. Aletha Joice, warm hearted, fondly remembered encourager, with a warm smile and sense of humor was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a valued friend and prayer warrior. She loved each of the young puppeteers in “God Squad”, and had dedicated involvement in missions and other ministries. Her love for God and the study and teaching of His Word, her tears and victories, losses and joys, are woven into the tapestry of who she was as a person and the effect she had on others.
