Street Beets September 24th, 2011: Mystery Item 13, Veggies, and Pie!
Here is the Mystery Item 13. If you know what it is comment on our Regina Farmers' Market Facebook page to win one!

Fishley Farms has been a part of the Regina Farmers' Market since the beginning. Rose and Stuart are the only remaining original members today. They still offer a wide selection of produce at reasonable prices. Nice pumpkins! They grow their garlic for 2 years. You take the first year garlic out of the ground and seperate the bulbs out and replant them the folowwing year. Some of this garlic is the biggest I have ever seen. German garlic is strong, you only use 1/2 of what your recipe calls for. A particular favorite amongst customers and other Market Members! They are also selling an assortment of Fall vegetables at the corner of Smith Street and 12th Avenue.
I was really happy with the assortment of pies at Sharon's Pies! In particular I was impressed with the Bumbleberry and Peach, Pear, Ginger Pie. Doesn't that sound delish? For really homemade pies go past the City Hall back alley on Smith Street. See you at Market, City Hall, 9:30 to 1:30 today.
