Yes, it is that time of year again! Time to stock up on the last of this season's vegetables so you have some local food for winter. Time for Seasonal cookies, gift giving, being indoors in the warmth. Today is our first Indoor Market at 2900 13th Avenue, the Cathedral Neighbourhood Center across from 13th Avenue Safeway. Admittedly some of our vendors will be outside the front doors (Lincoln Gardens and Heliotrope Organic Farm) as the weather will be nice today, but the space indoors is chock full of goodness and treats! Looking at my list of who wants to attend I wonder how I will fit them all, I will have to use the Games Room and the side hallways too during this season. Mila's will be running the licenced kitchen, there will be a breakfast bun with eggs, cheese, and bacon. I am not sure what she has for lunch, but every meal is handmade from scratch, even her husband makes the smoked sausage for their Ukranian plate! Lovely to have a coffee or lunch break while shopping!



This is the ever energetic face of Lynn Lane from Farmgate Foods! If you do not recognize this face then you are missing out on the nicest organic farm fresh eggs available! Her "ladies" as she calls them, are busily laying eggs this time of year. They are a soft brown and have a beautiful bright yellow orange yolk, The chickens are fed only certified organic grains and greens. Farmgate also raises exceptional lamb, she will have plenty of ground at the Market today. Lynn says she has plenty of eggs ready for you!
